The colors of the rainbow appear always in a specific order for a specific reason. Different colors have different wavelengths. The color purple is at the bottom layer of the rainbow because violet carries the shortest wavelength in the color spectrum. Red on the other hand has the longest wavelength so it appears as the first layer of the rainbow. Therefore the colors of the rainbow are always in order starting with red on top, orange, yellow, green, blue and finally violet on bottom. The only time the rainbow doesn’t appear in this order is when it’s the double rainbow. It appears purple on top,
